Istartedtheclasswithafunice-breakingactivitythathelpedthestudentstogettoknoweachother.Theactivityinvolvedcreatingawordweb,whereeachstudentwrotetheirnameinthemiddleofasheetofpaper,andthenwrotethreeadjectivestodescribethemselves.Theythensharedtheseadjectiveswiththerestoftheclass,andwehadashortdiscussionaboutwhateachwordmeantandwhatmadeusunique.

Thesecondpartoftheclasswasfocusedonvocabulary-building.Iintroducedtennewwordsrelatedtothetopicofanimals,suchaslion,elephant,andmonkey.Ithenusedpicturesandgesturestohelpthestudentsunderstandthemeaningofthesewords.Toreinforcetheirunderstanding,weplayedamemorymatchinggameandsangasongaboutanimals.
